She was born in Belleville, Ontario, but spent the majority of her youth in the small town, Napanee, Ontario.     Julie Iris Fernandez (born March 18, 1978), known by her stage name Juris, is a former lead singer of the Filipino acoustic group MYMP. Fernandez was born on March 18, 1978 in Davao City, Philippines. Her father is an engineer, and her mother is an obstetrician-gynecologist. Her elder sister is also an obstetrician-gynecologist. She is the youngest of two children. She went to high school at the Ateneo de Davao University. She studied college at Miriam College in Manila, finishing Bachelor of Science in Psychology.
